Bimbi Park – Camping Under Koalas

Bimbi Park is undeniably one of the best places to stay along the Great Ocean Road. Located in Cape Otway, approximately half way along the Great Ocean Road, it’s an ideal place to spend a night or two during your road trip.

It’s a haven for wildlife lovers thanks to the park’s resident koalas, and the park prides itself on offering the unique opportunity to go ‘camping under koalas’. Both powered and unpowered campsites are available, as well as on site accommodation for those not travelling by campervan or motorhome. 

Facilities at Bimbi Park include a camp kitchen, laundry room, and an amenities block with toilets and showers. Offering the amazing chance to camp under koalas, it’s one of the best camping sites and one of the most unique and cheap places to stay on the Great Ocean Road.

Cape Otway Lightstation

Enjoy a unique stay in heritage accommodation on the Great Ocean Road, at the Cape Otway Lightstation. Situated by the iconic Cape Otway Lighthouse, the accommodation was originally built for the lightkeepers in the 19th century.

The accommodation offers amazing views of the Southern Ocean and the Cape Otway Lighthouse, making for spectacular sunrise and sunset viewing. To top it off, kangaroos are often seen around the property, and koalas can be seen in the surrounding areas of Cape Otway.
