Speedboat tours are available if you want to take a day trip or a tour from Krabi to Koh Phi Phi. These tours include some of the best things to do in Koh Phi Phi such as visiting Maya Bay, snorkelling and stops at other islands and beaches.

Speedboat to Koh Phi Phi from Krabi Town or Railay

The quickest way to get from Krabi to Koh Phi Phi Island is to take a speedboat from Krabi Town or Railay East.

Scheduled journey times are 50-120 minutes depending on the service you take, but you do need to arrive to the pier at least 30 minutes in advance to check in for your trip.

There are currently several speedboats a day running from Krabi to Koh Phi Phi, with departures at 9.00am from Klong Jilad Pier near Krabi Town, 9.15am from Krabi River Marina and 10am from Railay East Pier. Krabi and Railay Beach have a few other piers you can get ferrys to Koh Phi Phi, the 3 above are the main piers but if another one suits you better then pick that.

The price for a speedboat ferry from Krabi to Koh Phi Phi Island are between 800 to 900 baht depending on the service you take.

Ferry to Koh Phi Phi from Ao Nang or Railay

The cheapest ferry to Koh Phi Phi island from Krabi departs from Ao Nang and East Railay.

It takes around twice as long as a speedboat, with the journey taking around 2 hours from Ao Nang or around 1¾ hours from Railay.

There is only one ferry a day from each spot, departing at 9.30am from Ao Nang and at 9.45am from East Railay to Koh Phi Phi. The ferry to Koh Phi Phi costs 500 Baht regardless of whether you depart from Ao Nang or East Railay.

Hotel Transfers to Koh Phi Phi from Krabi Town and Ao Nang

If you want a taxi transfer to Koh Phi Phi from your hotel in either Krabi Town or Ao Nang then this can also be arranged through 12Go Asia.

When searching on their website scroll down to the ‘Taxis and Ferries’ section and there are a variety of different departure times which include a taxi from your hotel to the ferry pier.

There are actually more ferry times available if you decide to book a taxi transfer as part of your trip from Krabi Town or Ao Nang to Koh Phi Phi Don Island.

Prices start from as little as 450 Baht, with the most expensive option costing 1,400 Baht for a taxi plus ferry transfer. Normally these cheaper rates will be a shared shuttle to the ferry terminal picking up people on the way.

It’s best to book as far in advance as possible so that you can confirm your pickup details with the operator, rather than having to do this at the last minute.

How to get from Krabi Airport to Koh Phi Phi

Another option is to book a shared van and ferry transfer from Krabi Airport to Koh Phi Phi. It takes approximately 2½ hours from Krabi Airport until you arrive at Ton Sai Pier in Koh Phi Phi.

There are six departures a day from Krabi Airport, with vans departing between 9.30am and 2pm. The cost of a van and ferry transfer to Koh Phi Phi from Krabi Airport starts from 850 Baht.

Space can be limited in the vans, so it’s recommended to book your spot as soon as possible.
